Description: A crucifix (from Latin cruci fixus meaning "(one) fixed to a cross") is an image of Jesus on the cross, as distinct from a bare cross. The representation of Jesus himself on the cross is referred to in English as the corpus (Latin for "body"). The crucifix is a principal symbol for many groups of Christians, and one of the most common forms of the Crucifixion in the arts. It is especially important in the Latin Church of the Catholic Church, but is also used in Eastern Orthodox, Eastern Orthodox and Eastern Catholic Churches, as well as by many Lutheran and Anglican churches. The symbol is less common in churches of other Protestant denominations, which prefer to use a cross without the figure of Jesus (the corpus). The crucifix ...
Description: Russian Orthodox cross or Orthodox cross is a variation of the Christian cross since the 6th century in the Byzantine Empire. The cross has three horizontal crossbeams, with the lowest one slanted. Nowadays it is a symbol of the Russian Orthodox Church and a distinctive feature of the cultural landscape of Russia. Description: A common neon sign at inner-city churches and missions alike, this design includes the Jesus Saves typographic lock-up along with a crown and the initialism INRI (Latin: Iēsus Nazarēnus, Rēx Iūdaeōrum) which represents the Latin inscription from John 19:19 which in English translates to "Jesus the Nazarene, King of the Jews." I found a similar one at a thrift store in Seattle from one of the local missions once and it was like finding the holy grail. It became one of my favorite used pieces to hunt down, but they were few and far between then and near impossible nowadays to say the least, so mark this one as another classic that's come back from the dead.

Description: Jesus Christ Superstar is a 1970 rock opera. Initially unable to get backing for a stage production, the composers released it as a rock opera album musical. The success of the album led to the show’s Broadway on-stage debut in 1971. The musical is sung-through, with no spoken dialogue. The story is loosely based on the Gospels’ accounts of the last week of Jesus’s life, beginning with the preparation for the arrival of Jesus and his disciples in Jerusalem and ending with the crucifixion. It depicts political and interpersonal struggles between Judas Iscariot and Jesus that are not present in the Bible. The work interprets the psychology of Jesus and other characters.
