Description: The Louisville Brecks dated their beginnings back to 1899. Officially the name of the team was the Louisville Breckenridge Club. The Louisville Courier-Journal reported in 1922 that the Brecks dated "back fifteen years, springing from a boys neighborhood team, the Floyds and Brecks, that has kept itself intact probably longer than any independent team in the country." At first the team was considered an amateur team, made up of mostly neighborhood boys. However, by 1919, the team was considered professional, although evidently still made up of local players. The Brecks were one of eight teams that joined the NFL (then called the American Professional Football Association) in 1921 and played four seasons.
Description: The Louisville Panthers of the American Hockey League played at Freedom Hall from 1999 to 2001, and were an affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers. During their time in the AHL, the Panthers faced the Kentucky Thoroughblades, Hershey Bears, Albany River Rats, Syracuse Crunch, Rochester Americans, Worcester IceCats, Springfield Falcons, Portland Pirates, St. John's Maple Leafs, Philadelphia Phantoms, Cincinnati Mighty Ducks, Hamilton Bulldogs, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, Hartford Wolf Pack and more.

Description: The Louisville Colonels were a Major League Baseball team that also played in the American Association (AA) throughout that league's ten-year existence from 1882 until 1891. They were known as the Louisville Eclipse from 1882 to 1884, and as the Louisville Colonels from 1885 to 1891; the latter name derived from the historic title of the Kentucky Colonel. After the AA folded in 1891, the Colonels joined the National League and played through the 1899 season. "Colonels" was also the name of several minor league baseball teams that played in Louisville, Kentucky, in the 20th century.
