Lucky Neko Mugs
Description: This piece was both referenced and inspired by my lucky cat or in Japanese, maneki neko, collection. I have around 40 scattered throughout my home. Having a lucky cat at home is suppose to bring good fortune and money. Lucky cats mean different things depending on the colour and if it's the right paw or the left paw raise as well as the colour and items they are holding. I find these cute cats lovely to have in the home. For good feng shui, I am told that you need to place them near where you make money and visible to an open door to invite good fortune. Bunnies are hidden throughout the piece. Inked and drawn traditionally and digitally colored and edited in Photoshop.
Description: Lucky cat statues, known as Maneki Neko(招き猫) or "beckoning cat" are lazily waving their raised paws in front of shops in Japan. These cute kittens are believed to bring good fortune to their owners - the cat with the left paw raised is said to attract customers, while the cat with the right paw raised is believed to bring wealth and prosperity.
Description: The maneki-neko is a common Japanese lucky charm believed to bring good luck and fortune. A maneki-neko with its left arm raised is to beckon for customers, one with its right arm raised is for money and fortune. Traditionally white (for good luck and fortune), other colors are now commonly seen, including gold for wealth. Add this super adorable one to your collection now!
