It sound very grand, but it is not, that a home in my street had a swimming pool. Not a very big garden and certainly not a very big swimming pool. However my children were friends with the pool owners children and so there seemed to be ready access to this pool. I have been interested in David Hockney and particularly his Californian swimming pool series. This is my Cambridgeshire, England version of swimming pool in the style of David Hockney. I suspect the weather is far better in California, but home is always "home". A swimming pool painting by David Hockney could become the most valuable work of art by a living artist sold at auction.

A stack of vintage postcards bringing back memories. I was going through some old papers and started to read some letters from the past and that inspired me to create this image. There is something special about holding an aged and weathered letter, postcard or photograph, they are part of our history. In this digital age these things no longer exist.
