It was the homeworld of Anakin and Luke Skywalker, who would go on to shape galactic history. Part of a binary star system, the planet was oppressed by scorching suns, resulting in the world lacking the necessary surface water to sustain large populations. As a result, many residents of the planet instead drew water from the atmosphere via moisture farms. The planet also had no natural surface vegetation.

Although a dimly lit tavern known for frequent outbreaks of violence, it was a popular stopping point for pilots, smugglers, bounty hunters, alien misfits, and renegades.

Description: Mos Pelgo, briefly known as Freetown, was a town located in the northern hemisphere of the planet Tatooine. In 4 ABY, the Mining Collective rounded up the citizens of the town for labor, with one man, Sheriff Cobb Vanth, stealing a camtono of silicax oxalate crystals from them before running into the desert. Vanth eventually encountered a Jawa sandcrawler and traded the crystals for a set of Mandalorian armor. Soon after, the miner and representative of the newly-established organization Red Key Company Adwin Charu arrived to barter with the Jawas. When Charu tried to claim the armor for himself, Vanth shot him before leaving. Returning to Mos Pelgo, he single-handedly liberated the town from the Mining Collective.

Description: The Mos Eisley Womp Rats were a professional baseball team that was headquartered in Mos Eisley on Tatooine. The team gets its name from the proliferation of rodents that run wild around spaceports and moisture farms throughout the planet. They played their games at Jawa Field. In their inaugural season, the Womp Rats posted a 62–89 record (.411) and finished in last place, 25 games behind the league champion Mos Pelgro Sarlaccs. The team improved significantly the next year as they were pennant contenders until the last game of the season.
