Description: The Cleveland Bearcats were an American professional Minor League Baseball team that played in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1914 and 1915 as members of the American Association. They shared League Park with the American League's Cleveland Naps. After the 1913 season, Charles Somers, owner of the Toledo Mud Hens and Cleveland Naps, relocated the Toledo team to Cleveland. The team played the 1914 season as the Cleveland Bearcats but became the Cleveland Spiders in 1915. The team moved back to Toledo in 1916.
Description: The Toledo White Stockings were a minor league baseball team based in Toledo, Ohio. In 1894 and 1895, Toledo teams played exclusively as members of the Class A level Western League. Toledo was known as the "Swamp Angels" in 1895, before the team relocated as the result of Blue laws. The Western League evolved to become today's American League in 1901. In 1895, the Toledo Swamp Angels continued play in the Western League, before the franchise relocated during the season. Some references have the team continuing under the "White Stockings" nickname in 1895.
Description: The Toledo Avengers represented Toledo, OH in the Western League in its first season in 1885. They had previously played in the American Association as the Toledo Blue Stockings, and before that in the Northwestern League. Managed by Dan O'Leary, the Avengers lost their first 11 games and once erred 18 times in a game. The team lost around $8,000 and folded after 29 games. After that 0-11 start, they had improved dramatically, going 8-10. Joe Morrison finished second in the league with 11 doubles.
