Nautilus Submarine Mugs
Description: Nautilus is the fictional submarine belonging to Captain Nemo featured in Jules Verne's novels Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas (1870) and The Mysterious Island (1875). Verne named the Nautilus after Robert Fulton's real-life submarine Nautilus (1800). For the design of the Nautilus, Verne was inspired by the French Navy submarine Plongeur, a model of which he had seen at the 1867 Exposition Universelle, three years before writing his novel.
Description: The Mark V diving helmet is the classical helmet that everyone thinks about when they envision a diving helmet. In 1912 the US Navy assigned a diver, Gunner George D. Stillson to research, design, test, and evaluate diving equipment and procedures. This research led to the Mark V being produced in 1916 through 1984. The helmet was produced by 4 companies, one of which being the Miller Dunn Company of Miami FL. Learn more about the unique history at the Thousand Fathoms website.

This atmospheric mixed-media collage layers bold geometric triangles in deep ocean blue across a striking black-and-white photographic portrait, while fragments of aged atlas pages and dense printed text drift behind him like maps to undiscovered worlds. The result is a portrait that feels simultaneously rooted in the 19th century and reaching boldly toward the infinite horizon. Verne spent his life sending readers to the bottom of the sea, the center of the earth, around the world in eighty days, and to the moon — and this design captures that restless, boundary-dissolving spirit in every layere
