Description: The Ranch Bowl was a legendary staple of Omaha, Nebraska’s music and nightlife scene. Originally opened in 1957 as a 24-lane bowling alley near 72nd Street, it transformed under owner Matt Markel in the late 1970s into an all-in-one entertainment complex. Combining a bowling alley, concert hall, multiple bars, volleyball courts, and even an in-house radio station (93.3 K-Rock), "The Ranch" became the heart of Midwestern rock. Iconic bands like Pearl Jam, Green Day, 311, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers played its stage before reaching megastardom. Though it closed in 2005, the venue remains deeply etched in local culture.
