The Artemis program is a US government-funded human spaceflight program that has the goal of landing "the first woman and the next man" on the Moon, specifically at the lunar south pole region by 2024. The program is carried out predominantly by NASA, U.S. commercial spaceflight companies contracted by NASA, and international partners. NASA is leading the program, but expects international partnerships to play a key role in advancing Artemis as the next step towards the long-term goal of establishing a sustainable presence on the Moon, laying the foundation for private companies to build a lunar economy, and eventually sending humans to Mars.

In 1968, a young comedian by the name of Bill Cosby began his long career with a syndicated radio series called “The Bill Cosby Radio Program.” Over 350 of the daily 5-minute comedy inserts were produced by Frank Buxton (who also doubled as the announcer and Bill’s “straight man”) and syndicated to over 200 teen-oriented (top 40) radio stations all over America on LP record. Bill and Frank improvised each episode, with sound effects provided by Jack Benny’s sound man, Gene Twombly. Recordings of the Bill Cosby Radio Program are extremely hard to find, as the LPs were likely considered by radio stations to be disposable. This design features the show’s very ’60s style logo that includes hand lettered type and a hip old school radio.

Apollo 11 was the first manned lunar landing mission, touching down at 20:17 UTC (universal time) on 20 July 1969. Neil Armstrong and Edwin 'Buzz' Aldrin were in this module, becoming the first men to walk on the surface of the Moon. Michael Collins stayed in lunar orbit in the command module Columbia. The Eagle comprised both a descent and an ascent stage. The ascent stage was used to transport Armstrong and Aldrin back to Columbia, leaving the descent stage behind on the Moon's surface. Both the Earth and the Sun are also shown here.

Exploring the Moon: astronaut Duke stands next to Crater Plum during the first excursion of the Apollo 16 mission. Duke is seen holding a bore sampling implement, used to take vertical profile samples of the lunar soil. On the far side of the 30 metre wide crater is the Lunar Roving Vehicle (LRV). Astronauts Duke and Young landed in the Descartes region of the Moon on 21 April 1972. During their 71 hour visit, they made three excursions on the surface totalling 20 hours 14 minutes, covering 26 kilometres in the LRV. After blasting off from the Moon, they rejoined astronaut Mattingly in the Command and Service Module, returning to Earth on 27 April 1972.
