Description: "Oorah" is a battle cry common in the United States Marine Corps since the mid-20th century. The term became popular in Korea in 1953, when Marines began using "aarugha" as a motivational tool, which eventually molded itself into "oorah". Despite what some Marines might think, "oorah" has nothing to do with the U.S. Army, and it is not the old Ottoman word for "kill".
