Orion Nebula Mugs

The Horsehead Nebula (Barnard 33) in the middle is a dark nebula in the constellation Orion. Behind dark cloud of dust glows hydrogen gas, ionized by the nearby star Sigma Orionis. The Flame Nebula (NGC 2024, Sh2-277) (in the left part of image) is an emission nebula, shines thanks to ultraviolet light from star Alnitak. Both objects are approximately 1350-1500 light years away from Earth. Picture taken with Newton telescope (750mm focal length), HaRGB technique, total exposure time: 15 hours.

The Flame Nebula (NGC 2024) and Horsehead Nebula (B33 against IC 434) are beautiful emission and dark nebulas located near Alnitak, the easternmost star of Orion's Belt. Nebulas are 900-1500 light years away from Earth. Amateur image consists of Hydrogen and RGB subframes, total exposure time 18h. HaRGB combination image.

Believed to be the cosmic fire of creation by the Maya of Mesoamerica, M42 blazes brightly in the constellation Orion. Popularly called the Orion Nebula, this stellar nursery has been known to many different cultures throughout human history.

Orion is a class of partially reusable crewed spacecraft to be used in NASA's Artemis program. The spacecraft consists of a Crew Module space capsule designed by Lockheed Martin and the European Service Module manufactured by Airbus Defence and Space.

The Eagle Nebula or Star Queen Nebula is a young open cluster of stars in the constellation Serpens, discovered by Jean-Philippe de Cheseaux in 1745-46. Its name derives from its shape that is thought to resemble an eagle. It contains several active star-forming gas and dust regions, including the famous "Pillars of Creation", photographed by the Hubble Space Telescope.

NGC 6357 is a diffuse nebula near NGC 6334 in the constellation Scorpius. The nebula contains many proto-stars shielded by dark disks of gas, and young stars wrapped in expanding "cocoons" or expanding gases surrounding these small stars. This nebula was given the name War and Peace Nebula by the Midcourse Space Experiment scientists because of its appearance. They said that in infrared images the bright, western part resembles a dove, while the eastern part looks like a skull.

The constellation Orion (the Hunter). Orion is one of the most famous constellations, lying on the celestial equator. The bright star near top left is Betelgeuse, a red supergiant 600 light years (l.y.) away. At bottom centre is the blue supergiant Rigel (900 l.y.). Just left of centre are the three stars that form 'Orion's Belt', Alnilam, Alnitak and Mintaka. Below these is 'Orion's Sword', including the pinkish patch of the Orion Nebula, M42 (1,650 l.y.). Orion is visible as a whole from most parts of the Earth, and may be used to find the position of a great number of other stars. The images of the stars of Orion have been enhanced photographically.

The Horsehead Nebula is a dark nebula in the constellation Orion. The nebula is located just to the south of the star Alnitak, which is farthest east on Orion's Belt, and is part of the much larger Orion Molecular Cloud Complex. The Horsehead Nebula is approximately 1500 light years from Earth. It is one of the most identifiable nebulae because of the shape of its swirling cloud of dark dust and gases, which bears some resemblance to a horse's head when viewed from Earth.
