Description: Pacific Ocean Park was a 28-acre, nautical-themed amusement park built on a pier at Pier Avenue in the Ocean Park section of Santa Monica, California in 1958. Intended to compete with Disneyland, it replaced Ocean Park Pier (1926-1956). After it closed and fell into disrepair, the park and pier anchored the Dogtown area of Santa Monica.
Description: Carlsbad Pacific Ocean Sunset is a color photograph of a sunset over the pacific Ocean. The location is Carlsbad, California just north of San Diego. The usage of color photography as a wall art print lends itself to many different types of interior design, from contemporary to traditional. I think what dictates the final look is the subject matter of the photograph and the manner in which it is framed and matted. Description: Jellyfish Fields is a vast area in Bikini Bottom where all the jellyfish reside. It first appears in the episode "Tea at the Treedome." It is likely rural in areas that are further away from the city itself and isn't rural in areas that are close to the city. Over 4 million jellyfish reside here, as evidenced in the episode "Jellyfish Hunter." In "Born to Be Wild," it is also revealed that Jellyfish Fields is 50 miles long. There are two entrances: one at the beginning and one at the end, so it stretches out to other towns.
Description: Surfing is a surface water sport in which an individual, a surfer (or two in tandem surfing), uses a board to ride on the forward section, or face, of a moving wave of water, which usually carries the surfer towards the shore. Waves suitable for surfing are primarily found on ocean shores, but can also be found in standing waves in the open ocean, in lakes, in rivers in the form of a tidal bore, or in wave pools. The term surfing refers to a person riding a wave using a board, regardless of the stance. There are several types of boards. The Moche of Peru would often surf on reed craft, while the native peoples of the Pacific surfed waves on alaia, paipo, and other such water craft.
Description: California's Golden Gate Bridge spans the mile-wide strait known as the Golden Gate that connects San Francisco Bay with the Pacific Ocean. The bridge links San Francisco with Marin County, carrying both U.S. Route 101 and State Route 1 across the strait along with pedestrian and bicycle traffic. Recognized as one of the Wonders of the Modern World, the Golden Gate Bridge is without question the most recognized symbol of San Francisco, and this '70s style souvenir features the city name in stylized rainbow type to form the iconic suspension bridge. If this one looks familiar, it's most likely because it was worn by Arlene in the movie Death Proof, originally released theatrically as part of the Grindhouse double feature.
