Description: In 1982's Six Pack, Kenny Rogers plays Brewster (Brew) Baker, an itinerant racing-car driver. Notwithstanding Brew's nickname, the six pack of the title refers to cute kids, not to beers. Cute kids who are orphans, whose specialties are either stripping or repairing racing cars, depending on how they feel about the owner. The kids steal Brew's engine when the film begins, but pretty soon he becomes a father figure to them and they fall into working as his pit crew. It's about as '80s as they come and super family friendly, but a good watch nonetheless.

Description: Just as it had with the Road Runner in 1968, Plymouth hit a muscle car home run in 1970 with the budget-priced Duster 340. The formula for the 1970 Plymouth Duster 340 was familiar. Take a cheap-to-produce platform, in this case, a Valiant wearing a new fastback body, and treat it to a hot engine, here Mopar's respected 340-CID four-barrel V-8. The determined little Duster was lighter, roomier, and faster than the 340 'Cuda. With a base price of just $2,547, it was the lowest-priced car in Plymouth's Rapid Transit System. And it was the only one with front disc brakes standard.
Description: Back in the '30s, Phil Weiand didn’t have technology to assist him in finding customers for his performance intake manifolds. He did, however, have a bit of marketing savvy. Late at night, he’d go where the Los Angeles street racers gathered to set up their matches, scout out the losers of those matches, and ask them if they wanted to go faster, promising that his dual-carb manifolds would help them do exactly that. He delivered the goods and the rest is as they say, hot rod history.

In fact, the idea of a muscle car had yet to be pitched and the Dart was simply a new budget model, though it would eventually get several performance and appearance packages like the Swinger and GTS. In 1971, the Dart received yet another package offering by way of the Demon and Demon 340. But the Demon series wasn’t just another Dart trim level. The aptly named Demon 340 was packing a 340ci V8 featured a hot cam, hydraulic lifters, and a 10.5:1 compression ratio and although it wasn’t of the big block variety like many competitors were equipping their vehicles with, it certainly gave any competitor a run for its money.
