Description: 'I think the point is to make us despair; to see ourselves as...animal and ugly. To make us reject the possibility that God could love us.' The Exorcist Father Merrin design is inspired by one of the most terrifying psychological horror movies of all time, The Exorcist, based on the novel by William Peter Blatty. Portrayed by the legendary Max Von Sydow, the titular Father Lankester Merrin is summoned (if you'll pardon the pun!) to exorcise the demon Pazuzu from Regan MacNeil, a young American girl possessed by the 'king of the demons of the winds.'
