Phillips 66 With Ethyl Woolaroc Oklahoma by Debra Martz I had forgotten all about the years of fuel with Ethyl until I saw it on this antique gasoline pump!! A 1927 vintage cottage style station which was built at the Bartlesville, OK airport and in service until 1948, is now located just inside the Woolaroc entrance. Late in 2014 it was moved to the grounds of Woolaroc and a short while later it underwent a full restoration. In 1925 oilman Frank Phillips built a ranch retreat, Woolaroc, on 3,700 acres in the Osage Hills in northern Oklahoma. Spencer Missouri is little more than a crossroads on old Route 66 but because of the mystique that The Mother Road has, someone loved it enough to buy it and restore it.

Conoco Inc. is a defunct American oil company founded by Isaac Elder Blake in 1875 as the Continental Oil and Transportation Company. It is now a brand of gasoline and service station in the United States which belongs to Phillips 66 following the spin-off of ConocoPhillips' downstream assets in May 2012.

Seeing these gas station attendant caps was a huge throw back in time for me. I remember the attendants dressed in uniforms with button shirts, caps and some even wore bow-ties in the very early days! Not to mention they would check your oil, water levels and wash the windshield! But in these current days the majority of gas stations are self-service with the full service the exception rather than the rule in most USA states. While traveling through Oregon a few years back, we noticed there were no self-service stations and the same for New Jersey; customers are not allowed to fill their own tanks in these two states.
