One of my first digital painting! If you look closely in the raven's eye, you'll see your soul (really!). The raven in the window looking at you.

The story of The Fall of the House of Usher starts in 2023, right after Roderick Usher, the wealthy and powerful CEO of corrupt pharmaceutical company Fortunato Pharmaceuticals, lost all six of his children — from oldest to youngest: Frederick, Tamerlane (the only two not born from different mothers or outside marriage), Victorine, Camille, Napoleon and Prospero — within two weeks. The evening after the final funeral for his children, Roderick invites C. Auguste Dupin, an Assistant United States Attorney who dedicated his career to exposing Fortunato Pharmaceuticals' corruption, to Roderick's childhood home, where he tells Dupin the true story of his family and gradually unveils the Ushers' darkest secrets.

For those who love 'shiny things', Edgar Allan Poe, and beloved and blackest birds, this Raven design is for you. This is one of 3 different versions of this design. The other versions, and more raven and gothic-themed, original designs are in my shop. :)

Amidst the desolate hinterlands, a solitary mansion stood, its ebon façade a haunting presence on the moonlit horizon. Obsidian-plumed ravens, their plumage as stygian as the abyss, congregated atop the macabre edifice in an eerie avian convocation. With a cacophonous ululation that resonated through the night, they invoked an eldritch rite, their onyx eyes aflame with malevolent intent. Unbeknownst to the ill-fated occupants, the ravens' sable wings bore whispers of ancient curses, and as the ethereal incantations spiraled upward, the very walls of the mansion seemed to exhale a frigid breath of dread.

We wondered what our favorite author would look like as a sad spud. So here we go, a funny food pun for all to enjoy. We shudder to think what the future may hold. Poe-tato chips? Mashed poe-tatoes? Poe-tato salad? Either way, the outcome will not be good.
