This vintage folk-horror design imagines a waterlogged figure rising from a moonlit river, tangled in weeds and reaching toward the shore. Unlike the Vodianyk, who rules the water, the Potopelnyk was once human—and never truly left. Inspired by Ukrainian folklore, Slavic mythology, drowned spirits, haunted rivers, supernatural legends, and old-world folk horror. Some things disappear beneath the surface. Others eventually find their way back.
