La Belle Dame sans Mercy - Sir Frank Dicksee La Belle Dame sans Mercy is a poem by John Keats which inspired several of the pre-raphaelite brotherhood to paint it. The lady is beautiful but dangerous, with allusions to her being supernatural in some way, either fey or succubus.
