A view of the Quai St Étienne, part of the Vieux Bassin at Honfleur on the Normandy coast of France. In the centre is the old church of St Étienne (St Stephen) which gives its name to the Quay. This is one of the oldest buildings in the town dating from the time when the medieval walls were built In 1432 it was enlarged by order of the Duke of Bedford during the English occupation of the region. A reminder of when Newcastle upon Tyne became the centre of attention for Rugby fans when it was host to the Rugby World Cup. proudly announced on the Tyne Bridge for all the see. The red Swing Bridge, High Level bridge and blue Queen Elizabeth bridge are also in the image, taken from Newcastle quayside.

The quay at Woodbridge in Suffolk at low tide. The many masts show that the main activity here is sailing! Woodbridge sits on the tidal stretch of the River Deben just before it flows into the North Sea at Felixtowe. The town was once known for its shipbuilding and rope making - and it is said that some of Sir Francis Drake's warships were built here. In the background is the iconic Tide Mill which harnesses the power of the tides to turn its wheel. The image has a textured finish.

The town was once known for its shipbuilding and rope making - and it is said that some of Sir Francis Drake's warships were built here. A century ago it was well known for its oysters which were served at top restaurants but this industry went ito decline. It was also famous for ship and boat building and also rope making. Now we find boats of all shapes and sizes tied up on the quayside. In the background is the old tide mill, harnessing the power of the tides to turn its wheel.
