Well Aren't You A Little Ray Of Pitch Black? We all have those people in our lives who just spread their dark aura. Or maybe they're just morning people. Either way, this sarcastic witty phrase is sure to please.

For this piece I wanted to emulate a deep dark forest in the early morning or midday. It was a challenge to get the rays of light painted (or rather, not painted) in a way that made them believable in shining through the canopy. I'm pleased with how it came out, especially how the shadows came out. I used gouache paints, masking fluid, white crayon and the original painting took around 8 to 10 hours to finish.
