A solar storm on St Patrick's Day 2013 created auroras so strong over Finnish Lapland that they actually made the snow glow green! This was taken on a tour to Kätkävaara that I signed up for at the last minute in hopes of getting out of the city and really seeing the storm. I'm so glad I did! Inclement Stormy Weather 2024 Total Solar Eclipse!

Two years ago on St Patrick's Day, we were in for an absolute treat. A coronal mass ejection happened on the sun a few days prior, which meant massive auroras when it hit the Earth's atmosphere. I'm so glad that I booked in on a last-minute trip that took us to this hill in Kätkävaara, far out in the Finnish wilderness.
