Rome, Italy - June 2019. This is the romantic and beautiful result of one of those lucky moments where a pair of people was walking hand-in-hand before me. I've taken few photos where the composition is this fabulous. ♡

This photo was taken by me in Rome, Italy in June 2019! It was my first time shooting (or traveling, for that matter) out of the USA. I've never seen a line longer than the one I stood in waiting to get into the Vatican Museums, but it was so worth it. This is one of my favorite photos from the trip because of the way the golden sun lights up the left side of the statues. ♡

The photo captures the raw beauty of a New Brunswick beach, with an agitated sea crashing against the shore. A stranded lobster trap lies abandoned, silently witnessing the relentless power of the ocean.

Twilight, photo on the edge of the city of Tours, Indre et Loire .a twilight landscape whose design shows a wooded corner of Tours Nord, in Indre et Loire. The wooded part, already immersed in the night, contrasts with a cloud-laden sky with, in the distance, a faint orange light from a setting sun.

A tropical island paradise with waves crashing on a warm beach with palm trees.

Its a common weed in Britain. Its often found along railway tracks and on wasteland and so usually not noticed - which is a shame. Rosebay willowherb has pinkish flowers that progress up a central spike as the summer goes on. You can tell what month it is by how far up the spike the flowers are open. I came across this clump on the nature reserve of Ham Hill that borders Poole Harbour in Dorset, UK. Its supposedly the second biggest natural harbour in the world (after Sydney) and you just get a glimpse of it (and Brownsea island) through the flowers. I've painted this in oil on a 16x12 inch board based on my own photos using my wet into wet technique but in two layers with drying time between.
