Atlantic County Treasurer Nucky Thompson is a regular customer and the business also pays protection money to his organization. On January 16 1920 Nucky hosts a party there to celebrate the introduction of prohibition. Chin Lee's was more than happy to cater to this need and by prominently stating what they were all about in blinking yellow lights - dinner and dancing. With no cover charge, Chin Lee's was a hot spot for anyone looking for a hot bowl of authentic chop suey, strong drinks, and a night of dancing.

Description: P.J.’s Hollywood was a Parisian style go go club owned by Bill Doherty, Paul Raffles, Phil Tanzini, and Elmer Valentine, friends and associates from Chicago. They opened P.J.’s in 1961, taking the name from the initials of Paul and his girlfriend, Judy, who had previously run a successful club in Chicago called The Black Orchid. The goal was to create a late night destination that became the place to be when all the other nightclubs called it a night. The clientele was a mixture of celebrities, swingers, and criminals, but once they crossed under the backlit “les Poupées de Paris” (the dolls of Paris) sign, these night owls all had one thing in common – they were looking for a good time.
