The title character is The Great Grape Ape, who is a 40-foot-tall purple gorilla with the mind of a child. His catch phrase is saying his name twice ("Grape Ape, Grape Ape") after anything anyone says, usually as a form of agreement or acknowledgement of what was said. While he survived, due to the trauma of the experience he refused to ever enter his space pod again, even just for photographs. Han survived for 19 years after his ordeal.
