Lowe originally opened the 450-room Tallyho Hotel on the property in 1962. Milton Prell purchased the hotel and began an extensive $3 million renovation of the property before reopening it as the Aladdin on April 1, 1966. A 19-story hotel tower was added in 1976. After various ownership changes, the Aladdin was closed in 1997 and demolished the following year to make room for a new Aladdin resort that opened in 2000.

Description: The Westward Ho opened in 1963. By 1997, it included 777 rooms, a 35,000 sq ft (3,300 m2) casino, and a 900-seat showroom. The Westward Ho closed on November 17, 2005, and was demolished several months later to make way for redevelopment plans which failed to materialize. A McDonald's opened on a portion of the former Westward Ho property in 2008.

Description: Donna Hubbell opened the Slot Shop in Elyria, Ohio in 1964 with her husband, Paul, as a hobby shop specializing in slot car racing. The original store was located on Winkles Street, but before too long they moved to their longtime location on Cleveland Street, which featured an eight-lane, 100-foot long slot car racing track where customers could buy time to run their cars and many events were held. While primarily dedicated to slots, The Slot Shop also stocked a wide array of craft and hobby supplies that attracted locals and out-of-towners alike. The family-run business was sold in 2001 and closed just five years later in 2006 after an amazing 42-year run.
