Seven samurai flag meaning: There are six circles, one triangle, and a hiragana た. The six circles represent the six proper samurai. The triangle represents another character who is not a samurai by birth (or really by any title) while the hiragana た (ta) is the phonetic pronunciation of the kanji 田, meaning "field", and represents the farmers who defend their land under the guidance of the seven samurai.
