Part of my Spirits of Winter Series. Originally painted in watercolor and ink. No matter where our wanderings through the grey winters take us, a portal of grace and the warmth of light will always be there to guide us home.

Dance of Day and Night. Earth tones swirls circular and inclusive of all things as light of day and dark of night battle in opposing ways mixing with it the seasons of the year. An eternal dance.

Waterways across the Okavango Delta, Botswana, Africa, from the air. The vast expanses of this amazing inland delta spread out on the canvas of the earth from the viewing advantage of a small plane. The water takes 6 months or so to come down from Angola; it spreads out across the delta and then seeps into the ground supplying water to underground aquifers. Ths huge area is in the Kalahari Desert, but for most of the year its green and its water belies that fact. (Featured in Wild Africa & Other Groups.)

I'm an ancient Asian art buff. An old man still looking towards the rising Sun. In my pieces I am reaching back to go forwards; my only wish: to indulge fully in the process of remixing art... I am deeply inspired by the masters of Japanese Ukiyo-e painting, and aim with my pieces to convey a deeply evocative and somewhat reminiscent picture of a past both foreign and beautiful, where notions of time and enjoyment had very different connotations. I sincerely hope that the viewers will feel peace and appreciation when they contemplate on this piece. A beautiful river in Grey County, Southwestern Ontario, Canada

As I drive up to our cottage, I often pass this lovely stand of conifers standing by the edge of a field. I suspect the trees once stood next to a farm house, acting as a wind-break, but there's no sign of a house there now. It was early in the morning with a fresh blanket of snow on the ground when I stopped to capture this image. The golden light from the newly risen Sun cast a warm glow upon the trees and in particular the winter wheat in the background. It was a scene that was difficult to ignore.

Geometric Forest

Sometimes you just have to look up. A wonderful play of light through the deep coppers and reds of Autumn. Leaves are like treasure at this time of year.

Blue skies, fallen leaves, cool, crisp air, what else do you need? Maybe an apple pie?
