Based in Arlington, Virginia, PBS is a major source of educational programs for public television stations in the U.S. Operating as a private, nonprofit corporation comprised of local public TV stations across the U.S., its programming is produced by member stations, independent producers, and other entities, rather than a central production arm. PBS aims to educate, inspire, and entertain through high-quality programming covering news, science, history, and the arts. Description: At the time of its Chapter 11 filing, Blockbuster said it would keep its 3,300 stores open; however, that December it announced it would close an additional 182 stores by the end of April 2011 in attempts to emerge from bankruptcy. It was reported in February 2011 that Blockbuster and its creditors had not come up with a Chapter 11 exit plan and that the company would be sold for $300 million (~$401 million in 2023) or more, along with taking over debts and leases. Blockbuster admitted that it might not be able to meet financial obligations required under its Chapter 11 filing, a circumstance which could mandate conversion of the bankruptcy filing to Chapter 7 (liquidation).
Description: In the seventh season of the magnificent drama "The West Wing" by Aaron Sorkin, they flashed forward 3 years to the dedication ceremony of President Bartlet's Presidential Library. It was a tender moment, and well constructed too. At once, it answered questions about the future and opened new ones about what we would see in the episodes to come. Overall it left the impression that, no matter what happened next, Jed Bartlet would leave a lasting legacy. His views, his politics, and his passion would live onward in this other world. This store is a chance to pretend that maybe, just maybe, that legacy lives on in this world. We could use that now more than ever.
