Description: Mountain Gorillas (Gorilla beringei beringei) are critically endangered still with an estimated population of around 880 individuals left in the wild. Their outlook has brightened a little in recent years due to conservation efforts from groups and programs like the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund. Despite these efforts, poaching and encroaching human population is still a threat to Mountain gorillas and their habitat.
Description: African Servals are slender cats with long legs, and ears that are the largest of any cats, proportional to their heads. If human ears were the same size proportionally to our heads as those of a servals, we would have dinner plate sized ears. Servals can jump up to 9 feet off the ground to grab a bird out of the air. Besides birds they are known to eat rodents, frogs, fish, reptiles, and even large insects. They often use their large ears to pick up sounds of their prey. While Serval populations are declining, they are not yet considered endangered. This is with the exception of One subspecies (the North african Serval). Servals are threatened by Habitat loss, Climate change, and sport hunting.
