Hand-drawn, digital artwork of a Keratocephalus interpretation, teal in color. Keratocephalus was a plant-eating dinocephalian, and lived in the Permian period of geological deep time --- the period right before the one in which dinosaurs first appear. It was hunted by large carnivores of its time and area, like Anteosaurus.

Dimetrodon is an extinct genus of non-mammalian synapsid that lived during the Cisuralian

Organ of Corti. Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of the organ of Corti from the cochlea of the inner ear. The bony capsule that encloses the organ has been removed to reveal the organ's spiral structure. Rows of sensory hairs within the organ of Corti convert sound vibrations into nerve impulses that are sent along the auditory nerve to the brain. Different sound frequencies stimulate hairs in different positions along the spiral. Low frequencies stimulate those near the top of the spiral and high frequencies stimulate those near the bottom.

Seals are extremely good swimmers and adapted to be able to stay underwater for long periods of time. Grey seals can dive for up to an hour using three key techniques. One, contrary to popular belief is that of *exhalation before diving*. Totally alien to us, but because of their 'unique physiological adaptations' to diving - totally viable for the seals. Awesome marine mammals!
