This is an image of St. Genevieve, the Patron Saint of Paris (in the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox traditions). Her feast day is kept on January the 3rd. Saint James Cavalier is a 16th-century cavalier (fortification) in Valletta, Malta, which was built by the Order of St John. It overlooks St James' Bastion, a large obtuse-angled bastion forming part of the Valletta Land Front, and stands facing the Castille Square with statue of Sir Paul Boffa, first Prime Minister (1947-50) after independence. It is now a "Creative Space" building.

Saint Michael, the Archangel, On the corner niches of many buildings in Valletta are to be found sculptures, mainly Christian in nature, and often near or on church buildings. The tradition of setting up niches in streets dates back to the Roman era. In Christian times, images of Christ, Our Lady and Christian Saints, replaced those of Roman Gods. Elizabeth of Hungary (13th century), the patron saint of the beggars, adorns a fountain in the old city of Basel in Switzerland. I used to pass the fountain every day on my way to school and still feel a special affection for this delicate sculpture by Swiss sculptor Hans Rudolf Meili who created it in 1862.
