Tasseography or the art of tea leaf reading is an ancient method of divination. Using this method, it is believed that the tea leaves are affected by our direct energy. The person seeking an answer, known as the 'querent', will sip their tea contemplating the question they seek an answer to, before performing a ritual of swirling and turning, transferring the leaves from saucer and back to cup. After this the querent will interpret the shapes that the leaves make to know the answer they seek. This piece is a fun play on this ancient soothsaying method, with the answer to your question to find acceptance within yourself, to love your self.

Palmistry or Chiromancy is the practice of reading the a person's character or future through ones palms. The practice is ancient and found all over the world. In the middle ages, the practice of Palmistry was suppressed by the Catholic Church who considered it a pagan superstition, it later had a revival in the 1800's. Characteristics such as the shape of the hand, lines, intersecting lines, mounds and more are interpreted. The heart, head, and life line are often given the most weight by Palmists. Generally Palmists read the persons dominant hand, which is considered to represent the conscious mind, while the other hand is considered to represent the subconscious mind.

This bat in the stars may be interpreted in a number of ways, but I hope that it helps guide you, more than anything. It is a symbol in many cultures, and in some a messenger.
