Last year, I painted a mermaid for a themed art show. It was very popular among my clients, but the composition of the painting was not ideal for the RedBubble product line. So I made another one with a seaweed border. I've always been charmed by mermaids. I drew them all the time when I was a girl. and my friends and I used to go to the public pool and belt our ankles together to swim like mermaids. (It was the 80's. Lifeguards let you do that.) This mermaid was created with a light pencil drawing and several layers of watercolor paint. After the paint dried, I went in with colored pencil to deepen and refine the colors. I hope she inspires mermaid magic and strength!
