Hill After Hill, Cumbria Phone Case
Landscape Phone Case
designed and sold by BrianPShaw
This image, originally captured on film in the late autumn of 1987, depicts the rolling hills (mountains) of the northern Lake District National Park. It's a while ago, but if I recall this the view to the south from Ard Crags. In the U.K., the popular definition of a mountain is that it must exceed about 600 metres (2000 feet), of which there are many seen in this image. While the mountains here are shaped by glaciers, a long time ago, the underlying rock is a relatively soft slate, which gives the mountains here a soft silhouette. Today, these hills are mainly populated by sheep as hill farming is the major industry, and by fell walkers (hikers) who come to hills to enjoy their beauty.
