Barn with a Red Door Phone Case

Southern Ontario is home to thousands of farms, each with at least one barn. Although I don't come from a farming background, I do see the nobility in these utilitarian buildings. The simplicity of their designs, the robustness of their construction. Yes there are variations on the theme, but their place on the landscape always looks so right. This image depicts a well maintained barn. It's clearly old judging by the field stone construction of its lower portion. The barn boards are weather worn and aged, and the metal roof has a rust coloured patina, but it seems to have faced the test of time with the fortitude its builders intended. The small silo adds to the scene. They have an overall sense of belonging in this rural landscape.
