Description: The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, better known as A&P, was an American chain of grocery stores that ceased supermarket operations in November 2015, after 156 years in business. From 1915 through 1975, A&P was the largest grocery retailer in the United States (and until 1965, the largest U.S. retailer of any kind). This design features A&P's 1976 rebrand logo which featured a new sunrise effect with a set of colored bands leading up to an offset A&P mark in a new, more modern typeface - the first major update since 1859.
Description: Warehouse Economy Outlet, (W.E.O), Where Economy Originates, was a discount, warehouse-style supermarket concept that was developed in the 1970s by A&P, and is credited with being an industry first. The original W.E.O. opened in Pennsauken, New Jersey in 1971, and quickly became a successful venture. W.E.O. featured grocery items in their original wholesale bulk packaging at reduced prices. In 1972, A&P expanded this format to 1,500 existing A&P stores; however, the expansion failed as older stores built prior to the '50s were not large enough to stock bulk packaged goods. The tagline used in ads and worn by employees was "I won't stop trying till you say Weeeeeo!" but by 1975, A&P abandoned the concept, so I guess they did kinda stop.

Description: A-P-A Transport Corp. (also known as APA Transport) was a North Bergen, New Jersey based trucking and shipping company, that was at one point, the nation's fourth-largest interstate freight trucking company. Founded in 1947 by Arthur Imperatore Sr. and his brothers Eugene, Arnold, George, and Harold in West New York, New Jersey, it started as a local trucking business with a single military surplus truck, originally called "Imperatore Bros. Moving and Trucking." Later that same year they bought a second surplus truck, and then the name and two trucks of A&P Trucking Corp. for $800 from Albert Amorino. In the 1950s, after a few years of legal wrangling over the name by the A&P grocery chain, they simply added a trailing A.
