As-salāmu ʿalaykum (Arabic: السلام عليكم, Arabic pronunciation: [as'salaːmu ʕalajkum]) is a Muslim greeting in Arabic that means "Peace be upon you". The greeting is a standard salutation among Muslims and is routinely used whenever and wherever Muslims gather and interact, whether socially or within worship and other contexts.

This is a combination of two sketches from a recent world trip - one of a water calligrapher in Shanghai, China and the other of a dragon statue in Kyoto, Japan. The calligrapher is direct from my sketch book, created with brush pen. The dragon is a digital painting based on a sketch of a fountain. Note the writing in the top corner was done by the water calligrapher I was sketching. He didn't speak any English so drew for me instead.
