Description: Located on Union Street in Boston's North End, the Green Dragon Tavern was a hotbed of activity in pre-revolutionary Boston. In 1766, the tavern was sold to the St. Andrew's Lodge of Freemasons. The basement tavern was used by several secret groups and became known by historians as the "Headquarters of the Revolution". The Sons of Liberty, Boston Committee of Correspondence, and the Boston Caucus each met there. Description: Revolutionary War Founding Fathers Joseph Warren and Paul Revere were friends, contemporaries, masonic brothers, confidants, confederates, and compatriots. The pair both lost their wives in the same week. This shared grief, along with brotherhood and shared ideas about the rights of the colonists, bonded the two. Undoubtedly, Warren's death at Bunker Hill deeply affected the famed silversmith. It's no wonder Paul Revere named his son Joseph Warren Revere.
