I designed this with a love of small airplanes. Living in the wilderness of Alaska I grew up with a dad and later my husband flew supercubs. (Called bush pilots) Small air planes that can land and take off in small areas. Here are some small planes for your love of flying. Back ground is little paper airplane diagrams.

BUSH PLANE BUSH PILOT ALASKA

If you want to get a lot of places in Alaska, you need to charter a plane as access by road can either be too treacherous or simply nonexistent, by sea just too time-consuming or not an option further inland. Whether it’s a civilized weekend in Sitka, dropping in on the small town of Golovin, or landing on McKinley Glacier, an experienced bush pilot is an excellent choice to get you to where you are wanting to go… and back again. Founded in 1968, Whitebear Air Charters spent decades transporting people and goods throughout the massive state of Alaska, and their experienced pilots were at the ready, airport or not. From landing at sea or on glacial snowpack, to the raw bush country landscape, Whitebear did it all.

Carl Benjamin "Ben" Eielson (July 20, 1897 – November 9, 1929) was an American aviator, bush pilot and explorer. Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska is named in his honor. In 1997 Carl Ben Eielson was inducted into the North Dakota Aviation Hall of Fame.

Kurtzer Flying Service was founded by legendary Seattle pilot, Alana Kurtzer, at Boeing Field in 1928. Kurtzer would later relocate the business to the south end of Lake Union in 1931. Serving routes throughout the Pacific Northwest, from the Mt. Rainier and the San Juan Islands, to destinations in British Columbia, including Vancouver and Nanaimo, Kurtzer Flying Service got cargo and passengers to their destinations for years. Kurtzer eventually renamed the business Kurtzen Marine and Flying Service School, and began teaching pilots the ins and outs of operating seaplanes. Alana Kurtzer's school continued to operate for decades, training thousands of pilots that would follow in his footsteps, and only closed in 1988 after his death.

WWI pilot Leigh Brintnell formed Mackenzie Air Service in 1932 in Edmonton, Alberta. Brintnell offered both passenger and cargo service to remote mines and trading posts throughout the Canadian Northwest. His first contract was flying fresh produce from Edmonton to the remote Eldorado Mines, and eventually would maintain daily scheduled flights linking Edmonton with key points in Goldfields, Yellowknife, Gordon Lake, Port Radium, and Coppermine. Known for flying places otherwise unserved, Mackenzie Air Service was a pioneer in bush pilot transportation services that would eventually operate one of the largest modern aircraft fleets in Canada. Mackenzie Air Service would be purchased by Canadian Pacific Airlines in the early '40s.
