This is was my second attempt at sketching and then turning that sketch into a vector. I love playing around with negative space. The shorts, belt, some hair highlights, and the purse all play with negative space. As you pick the color of your choice these elements embrace those colors. Take a look. I made this a long time ago but now it means even more than what it meant when I made it. Promote diversity.

“Everybody’s got the right to some sun shine- Not the sun, but maybe one of its beams. Rich man, poor man, black or white, Pick your apple, take a bite. Everybody just hold tight to your dreams. Everybody’s got the right to their dreams.” (Sondheim, Assassins)

So this one's pretty cool, I think. I mean, they all are, but this one has an extra dimension. It's a play on University, Diversity, and then it also has my school, UD, thrown in there. Pretty slick, if you ask me. Go Blue Hens! And every other color of hen because, well, diversity.

Canada’s rich indigenous history has shaped our national identity today; cultural ties to our First Nations, Métis, and Inuit ancestors have created a country where multiculturalism and diversity are celebrated and welcomed. Today, Canada is home to people of many different cultural backgrounds, who live and coexist together. The nation is also celebrated for its vast lands and rich wildlife. Inspired by a number of Inuit, Woodland, and West Coast visual artists (e.g. Kenojuak Ashevak, Norval Morrisseau, Eddie Cobiness, Goyce Kakegamic, Benjamin Chee Chee, and Kananginak Pootoogook), this illustration honours different culture identities alongside some of our most recognizable animal counterparts.

This one is just as cool as the one with the black lettering, although you can get away with some darker shirt colors with a white font. Still sleek and sexy, this University Diversity design expresses the continuous goal of maintaining a diverse atmosphere at UD. Not just racially within the student body, but ideologically. Different ideas are extremely important if you expect to learn anything about your own ideas. Maybe that's why the two words share a bunch of letters!
