Native Americans are the indigenous peoples within the territory that is now encompassed by the continental United States, including parts of Alaska down to their descendants in modern times. They comprise a large number of distinct tribes, states, and ethnic groups, many of which are still enduring as political communities. There is some controversy surrounding the names used to describe these peoples: they are also known as American Indians, Indians, Amerindians, Amerinds, or Indigenous, Aboriginal or Original Americans. Voice to Parliament - Vote Yes The voice would advise the Australian parliament and government on matters relating to the social, spiritual and economic wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. It would be a permanent body representing First Nations people that would advise government about policies affecting Indigenous people. The Voice would be an advisory body, but it would not have powers to overrule parliament, commonly known as "veto" powers. The Uluru Statement calls for the 'establishment of a First Nations Voice enshrined in the Constitution'.

Prey and Predator. That is the theme of my new Haida formline styled otter chasing salmon drawing. I'm not actually sure otters eat salmon, but I like the idea to put a predator and prey into a Yin and Yang symbol. Do prey and predator not complement each other? Due to my family in British Columbia, for instance Vancouver BC, Haida Formline art has been part of my life. The Pacific Northwest coast is a beautiful place where I spent some happy holidays and a couple of years ago I decided to learn some of its native art. Our Zeta friends the P'nti continue to be extremely concerned about our world's oceans and the life within them. One of things Commander Tlkm (pictured) told us was that 75% of the Star Nation visitors coming to Earth do NOT come to see us Earth Humans. They come to because of our beautiful vast oceans. Our whales sing the oldest songs on this planet, and are legendary in this part of the galaxy. Here, Tlkm is consulting with the one of the whale nation elders about the health of Earth's oceans and how their people are handling the climate changes.

I wanted to make some more fun and cute. And I came up with my rendering of a Haida cat, since cats are so popular on the internet. It's frontal face view, which for me is always hard to get it right with the flow of the formline. Although I'm happy with the result, no doubt that I'll tweak it in the future.
