Description: Holden introduced the Sandman ute in 1974 as part of the HQ series and based on base models, but with extras including the comprehensive dashboard from the Monaro, two seats, and sport wheels. It immediately hit a sales sweet spot with younger male buyers, outselling the Monaro, and promptly dubbed “shaggin’ wagon” and “sin-bin” and becoming the catalyst for similar vehicles from other manufacturers trying to cash in on the Sandman craze. By the late '70s, the fizz had almost completely gone from the Sandman's market as people who wanted a surf wagon already owned one and new buyers were moving on to other trends, so 1978 was the model's last hurrah, though they very much have held their cult status to this very day.

Description: The HQ model replaced the HG Holden. It was the first ground-up redesign of the Holden line since its original release in 1948, and included an all-new body, chassis, and suspension. 'The HQ model Monaro's new coupé design had a much larger rear window and a squarer rear quarter window; it was somehow seen as not as sporty looking compared to the earlier HK-HT-HG series, but is often now considered one of the best looking body designs to come from an Australian manufacturer.' (NZ Autocar)
Description: Although the Monaro name had survived into 1977 as the HX Monaro GTS sedan, the coupé configuration was no longer in production and Holden decided to delete the Monaro name altogether from the new Holden HZ range. With the development of Radial Tuned Suspension, Holden transformed the bland characteristics of their full-size sedans and introduced a sporting variant called simply Holden GTS. Released on 5 October 1977, this HZ variant featured a four headlight grille, front and rear air dams, four-wheel disc brakes, sports wheels and a 4.2-litre V8 engine as standard equipment. The optional 5.0-litre V8 became standard in June 1978. (wikipedia)
Description: The Holden Sandman was a popular, customizable panel van and utility option package offered by Holden in Australia from 1974 to 1980. It gained popularity among young people, especially for its bright paint jobs, custom interiors, and V8 engine options. The Sandman was essentially a sporty version of the standard panel van, incorporating elements from the Monaro GTS, like bucket seats, a sports steering wheel, and rally wheels.
Description: Statesman is an automotive marque created in 1971 by the Australian General Motors subsidiary, Holden. Statesman vehicles were sold through Holden dealerships, and were initially based on the mainstream Holden HQ station wagon platform, thereby providing more interior room and generally more luxurious features than their Holden-branded sedan siblings. Production ceased with the last of the WB series cars in January 1985. (Wikipedia)
