At heart, I am an absurdist. In modern times, it's getting harder to separate reality from absurdity ... but that's a conversation for another time. In this piece, I wanted to marry two completely different worlds, each relatively absurd in their own way. Two worlds so distant from each other that when thrown together, they become utterly surreal. Honestly, the thought of Frankenstein's Monster and the Creature from the Black Lagoon earnestly competing in the Showcase Showdown on The Price is Right (in the 1970s, no less) simply makes me laugh. So I created it. But I wanted to do it right, so I added an absurd amount of detail.

A fun colorful design celebrating the classic monsters of the 30's and 40's, Frankenstein, the Wolfman, the Phantom, Dracula and the creature from the black lagoon.

Our proud scientists are working hard to catalog the strange kaiju food creatures. The newest discovery they found is Pizzazilla, a complex organism in a slice of vegan pizza.

It was just a diet, but it has become something fatal. The Terrible Broccozilla!

Creepshow is a 1982 anthology film in which five tales of terror from the 1950s comic book series of the same name are presented. The first deals with a demented old man returning from the grave to get the Father’s Day cake his murdering daughter never gave him. The second is about a not-too-bright farmer discovering a meteor that turns everything into plant life. The third is about a vengeful husband burying his wife and her lover up to their necks on the beach. The fourth is about a creature that resides in a crate under the steps of a college. The final story is about an ultrarich businessman who gets his comeuppance from cockroaches.

The summer flowers are blooming and here we are, unaware of their true nature.
