Flea Market Montgomery was a flea market in Montgomery, Alabama that rose to national attention thanks to a homemade commercial featuring the owner rapping and dancing. The song from the commercial is considered one of the most infectious songs of 2006 with the catchy chorus "Flea market, Montgomery. It's just like a mini mall" getting stuck in the collective minds of the world.

Commemorate the now-defunct Northgate Mall, the first of its kind in Durham, North Carolina. A staple location through the 70s, 80s, 90s and beyond, many Durham natives remember this mall with fondness from its heyday.

In the ’80s, it was all about import 4×4 pickups riding high on block lifts and cruising the strip. Sure, those lifts were of questionable safety, but the trucks were cool as hell and occasionally even went off-road to give those stacked up steering stabilizers a workout 😏

The first County Seat store opened in Minneapolis in 1973 and was an offspring of the grocery store chain Super Valu Stores. County Seat grew to be one of the nation's largest mall-based specialty retailers of casual wear for teens and young adults with more than 630 jean stores in 46 states. Jeans and jean jackets account for more than 50 percent of the company's sales in 1993. Teens do their shopping in the malls, according to County Seat research, and the company expected its growth to continue with the growth of regional malls. The chain closed in 1999 following Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

For the southeast portion of Massachusetts, no mall matched the retail frenzy that the Silver City Galleria produced upon its grand opening on March 1st, 1992. Developed by The Pyramid Companies, the 2-level mall was located in Taunton, Massachusetts, near both Route 140 & Route 24. Originally with 120 stores, the mall brought retail vibrancy to the area for many years, housing many major national retail entities. Due in part to the great recession of 2008, along with multiple ownership changes, the mall was unable to retain a high occupancy rate, despite a major renovation occurring in mid-2014. Foreclosure eventually occurred in May of 2019, with February 29, 2020 being its final day. The mall was demolished on May 9, 2021.
