A recreation of the Super Famicom (the Japanese SNES) system icon resembling the Sega Master System. Might not have meant much to North America but this little 8-bit marvel found it’s place in many children’s bedrooms all across Europe and South America.

The Master System was constructed with hardware superior to that of the NES, but failed to overturn Nintendo's significant market share advantage in Japan and North America. Growing up the Console Wars were played out in neighborhoods and during school recesses all across the fruited plains. Most had an NES but some few held out on their Sega Master System or Atari 7800. For those really fortunate, they had two or all three systems to enjoy. Which was your favorite?

I came up with the idea for this design while I was wearing my own red Converse and wondering why I hadn't seen a pair made up to look like Sonic the hedgehog's shoes. ...I haven't actually painted a white stripe onto mine yet but I'm thinking about it
