Black and white ... obviously not myself today. : ) I love color so much, doing a pattern without color doesn't come easily to me, but sometimes I think it is good to work outside of my comfort zone.

This took me a whole day, using a 0.1mm black ink pen, and made my fingers bruised and my hand ache, but I really enjoyed it anyway. : )

Lately I've been drawn to Art Deco & Art Nouveau shapes and patterns, I'm enjoying exploring their possibilities. This is a second color version of my Glamorous Twenties Art Deco Pastel Pattern.

This pattern took me ages, long enough to make me wonder what I was thinking even starting on such an ambitious (for me) project. But my garden is full of proteas, and they are so lovely, I find their shapes and colors endlessly inspiring, so it had to be done. I couldn't ignore them anymore. : )

When I was little I'd spend hours looking at marbles and marvelling at their beautiful intricacies and stunning designs. Their shape, their weight, their endless colours and differences, their shininess and the pleasure of ownership that is the essence of the game of marbles... as an adult I find them no less appealing. My Mom gave me a bunch of jonquils from her beautiful garden and of course I immediately wanted to make a pattern from them. Well. It was really hard. I started over numerous times and worked and worked and put it aside and worked on something else and came back and started over AGAIN and oh dear... This will have to do.
