Northwest Airlines Phone Cases - iPhone and Android
Description: Northwest was impressed by the reliability and handling of its fleet of Model 10A Electras, but with growing traffic in the late 1930s came the need for larger capacity aircraft to handle the load. Northwest was proud to be the launch customer, and would market these aircraft as the “Sky Zephyr, the world’s fastest transports.” The first of 11 aircraft ordered arrived in September 1937, and the last was delivered in July 1939. The Model 14H quickly took over mainline duties, starting on the Chicago-Twin Cities run in October 1937, and by summer 1938 was running three round trips daily from the Twin Cities to Seattle.

Description: Northwest Airlines was founded in 1926 as Northwest Airways, a reference to the historical name of the Northwest Territory. Like other early airlines, Northwest's focus was not on moving passengers, but in flying mail for the Post Office. Northwest began carrying passengers in 1927, and in 1947, Northwest was the first airline to begin direct service between the United States and Japan. By the '60s, Northwest had regular service to Hong Kong, Manila, Okinawa, Osaka, Taipei, Tokyo, Seoul, making them the world's leading transpacific airline serving the Asian region, formerly known as 'The Orient.' Northwest began marketing themselves as Northwest Orient Airlines in 1969, which included a total rebrand and a fleet refresh with 747 jumbo jets.
