At the time, I was just cranking them because they were fun, and I completed one within a few hours. The majority of the Skulls and Buddhas series are either 4x6 or 5x7 inches. It always seemed to me that the symbolism of skulls and the Buddha (in a meditative pose) is similar. In the practice of sitting meditation, we confront the inescapable reality of impermanence, and the skull often symbolizes mortality. The simple fact that we will have to face our own last breath.

Description: This print is of an original hand drawn artwork of mine which is inspired by acoustic guitar singer songwriter Legend J Taylor. When drawing this piece I spent a lot of time on the composition, the style and the overall look of the drawing. Focusing on the 70s period of his career the original piece was drawn using a varitey of indian inks which gave me the capability to add in detailed and really fine line work in my drawing to ensure every fine line of hair, shading and texturing were included.
