An astounding Plutonium design. Plutonium is a transuranic radioactive chemical element with symbol Pu and atomic number 94. It is an actinide metal of silvery-gray appearance that tarnishes when exposed to air, and forms a dull coating when oxidized. The element normally exhibits six allotropes and four oxidation states. Pu is the periodic table element symbol for the radioactive metal plutonium. The element symbols may be combined to make words, but the symbol for plutonium is funny all on its own!

The orbitals are swirling in Storistir to make holiday ornaments! Plutonium, element 94, is considered the grim reaper of elements. The Fat Man plutonium bomb was about 40% more powerful than the uranium Little Boy bomb. Plutonium was named after what is now deemed a dwarf planet, Pluto. The name also has associations with Hades and its ruler.

Disaster Area are a plutonium rock band from the Gagrakacka Mind Zones and are generally regarded as not only the loudest rock band in the Galaxy, but also as being the loudest noise of any kind at all. Disaster Area are fronted by Hotblack Desiato. Their songs are on the whole very simple and mostly follow the familiar theme of boy-being meets girl-being beneath silvery moon, which then explodes for no adequately explored reason.

Fat Man atomic bomb blueprint. Developed by the US military, this was the second atom bomb used in warfare. It was dropped on the Japanese city of Nagasaki on 9th August 1945, detonating with the force of 21,000 tons of TNT. It destroyed an area several kilometres across, killing some 75,000 people. The bomb was an implosion type (some of the imploders shown at left and at centre) codenamed 'Fat Man' (Y-1561 F.M.). It was 3.25 metres long, weighed over 4.5 tons, and contained 6 kilograms of plutonium. This blueprint was declassified in 1976.

The Sator Square (or Rotas Square) is a word square containing a five-word Latin palindrome. The earliest form has ROTAS as the top line, but in time the version with SATOR on the top line became dominant. It is a five-by-five square made up of five 5-letter words, thus consisting of 25 letters in total, all derived from eight Latin letters: five consonants (S, T, R, P, N) and three vowels (A, E, O).

The actinides are not only radioactive, but they have been used in warfare. Little Boy was an uranium bomb dropped on Hiroshima and Fat Man was a plutonium bomb dropped on Nagasaki.
