Description: Phantasm is a 1979 American science fantasy horror film that was locally financed with a cast and crew that were mostly amateurs and aspiring professionals. The self-titled first film in the franchise, introduces the Tall Man, a supernatural and malevolent undertaker who turns the dead of Earth into dwarf zombies to be sent to his planet and used as slaves. He is opposed by a young boy, Mike, who tries to convince his older brother Jody and family friend Reggie of the threat.
Description: This design is based on a beautiful painting by William-Adolphe Bouguereau. I really love that Shepherdess painting and wanted to do a homage in my style. Making the shepherdess a grim reaper figure tells a whole different story than the original… Makes it more sinister and macabre. I love the sheep and the innocence of the lamb and how weirdly peaceful the sheep looks while Death is taking away the lamb. I have to thank Bouguereau for painting such a wonderful communication between the figures, he truly was a great master.
